F.A.S.T. is a running program for YOU as an individual to help you reach YOUR goals.
It doesn't matter if you run a 5 minute mile or a 12 minute mile, it doesn't matter if you are a post collegiate athlete or a weekend warrior, F.A.S.T. is a program for you. We don't give you canned workouts and we aren't like every other training group. In fact, no other training group in Peoria, IL is as dedicated to the athletes as F.A.S.T.! F.A.S.T. was founded in 2009 by Brad Henz. Coach Brad wanted to start a program based on the philosophy that he learned at North Central College while running for the legendary coach Al Carius. The same year Coach Brad helped launch Peoria's new Track Club, the Peoria Area Track and Field Club, Coach Brad launched the first season of F.A.S.T. Al Carius, Coach Brad's collegiate coach, has become probably the winningest coach in NCAA history in Cross Country and Track & Field. This year, North Central won it's 15th NCAA championship in Cross Country. In fact, over the last 5 years, the North Central Cardinals have finished in the top 2 each season. Al's philosophy is "Run for Fun & Personal Best." It is about working hard both on and off the field and enjoying the process. At the same time, it is about doing smart training and believing in yourself. In 2010, Brad recruited Maggie Butterfield (Carroll), a former U of I standout, to coach with him. FAST runs for three seasons. There is a Winter Season, Spring/Summer, and Summer/Fall. |
